The KJH PTSA sponsors these after school activities for all students at KJH.  No experience is necessary.  Spend time with existing friends or make new ones that share your interest.  Come experience something new or share your talents with other KJH students.
Note: Some  of these activities are also sponsored by ASB.

 Studio East - "Seussical Jr."


   Studio East is coming back to KJH for six weeks starting Monday, March 21.  Students will audition  and then rehearse after school for 6 weeks from 2:30pm -  5:30pm, Monday through Thursday.
   
The play this year is “Seussical” and the performances are scheduled for Friday evening May 6th and Saturday May 7th at Kenmore Elementary.
   
Yes, it’s a big commitment but also a great opportunity, at the great price of $75 (same as for a sport).

   Debbie Montague will be the KJH teacher in charge and

is planning a mandatory parent information meeting for Tuesday, March 15.
   
Audition application forms are in the office - due back this Friday, March 11.
   
This program is jointly sponsored by KJH PTSA and ASB.

 
 
KJH Science Club - WA Science Olympiad

Starts On January 4th.
Meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Room 411 (2:30 to 4:30 pm)

Compete as a team while bringing science to life, showing how science works and emphasizing the problem solving aspects of science and the understanding of science concepts

                                       ASB card is required
 
FLL (First Lego League) Robotics Club

Started on 9/14; runs through early December;  join very soon if you plan to participate
Meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays in Room 307 (2:30 to 4:30 pm)
Build a robot and compete against other schools!
Teacher is Kevin Lane
ASB card is required

 
Drama Club

Second session started on 11/09; a new session starts every 6 weeks through early March
Meets on Tuesdays in the KJH Cafeteria (2:30 to 4:30 pm)
Teacher is Independent Contractor, Sara Mutal
Cost is $25 per session (payable to KJH PTSA)
ASB card is not required.
 
Art Club

Club will start on Wednesday October 6th; runs through mid-April
Meets the 1st and 2nd Wednesday of every month in Room  # 426 (2:30 to 4:30 pm)
Teacher is Nancy Gravett
Students are welcome to work on “PTSA Reflections” projects in Oct & Nov.  ASB card is required.
 
                              Guitar Club

Club will start on Wednesday October 20th; runs through late April
Meets the 3rd and 4th Wednesday of every month in Room #429 (2:30 to 4:30 pm)
Teacher is Robert Guy
Guitars are provided and all ability/experience levels are welcome.
ASB card is required.
 
    
Hang-Time
 
Will start on Tuesday October 5th; runs through late April, join anytime
Meets Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday (2:30 to 4:30 pm)
Led by a parternership with NSD (PTSA and ASB), YMCA, AmeriCorps of Cascadia Community College andUWBothell

KJH Science Club 
A new after-school Science Club is starting on Tues., Jan 4th!   The Science Club will be led by Shawn Lettic with an emphasis on preparing students to compete in the Science Olympiad program.   Plan is to meet on both Tuesdays and Thursdays in Room 411, from 2:30 to 4:30 pm.
Come on January 4th to find out what it's all about!
ASB card is all that's required.
 
KJH Drama Club 
A new 6 week after-school Drama Club session starts on Tues., Jan 11th.  This club is led by Sara Mutal and the cost
per session is $25 payable to the "KJH PTSA".
Don't miss out on the last session of the school year!
Scholarships are available through KJH PTSA.

 

FLL Robotics
The KJH team tied for 4th place in the Robot Performance Challenge at the Regional Qualifier on December 4th.  A tough field of 35 teams was competing.  Way to go KJH!

 

FLL Robotics - Saturday, December 4th

The KJH FLL Robotics team, led by KJH Teacher Kevin Lane, will compete on Saturday December 4th at Inglemoor High School gym.  The complete schedule for this Regional competition can be found at www.firstwa.org (under the FLL/Events).
Come on out and cheer them on!
